Morning arrival at Dakar International Airport. Welcome to the Motherland!! You will be met by our hospitality team, assisted outside the airport to our Destination Management Specialist and your air conditioned coach for transfer to your 5-star Hotel Radisson Blu on the seaside of Dakar.
Your hotel check–in will be at 3:00pm, after which you will have the remainder of the day at leisure. Relax at the swimming pool or at the beach while you recover from your long flight.

9:00 am: Depart for your visit of the beautiful city of Dakar, the capital of Senega. You will visit Independence Square, the heart of Dakar, which is surrounded by historical colonial buildings. Pass by the President’s Palace with its impressive red spahi guards and the House of Parliament. Drive to Kermel market for a visit and continue on to the sand painting gallery where you will witness how these unique paintings are made.
Interact with some of the painters and have an opportunity to purchase paintings. After the sand painting gallery, you will board your tour bus to visit the Monument of the African Renaissance, an impressive monument that represents Senegal’s cultural resurgence and serves as a unifying symbol for the future. The African Renaissance ranks among the tallest monuments in the world.
1:00pm: Enjoy lunch at restaurant “La Pointe des Almadies”
3:00pm: Leave for the Museum of Black Civilization”. This museum inaugurated in 2018 is already considered one of the most important museums of Africa. It aims to show the world how important the contribution of the Black Continent is to the growth of humanity.
5:00pm: Return to your hotel
7:30pm: Leave for the nearby “Aby’s Garden”, one of the best restaurants of Dakar. Dinner

Depart for the Goree Island ferry terminal and board the ferry for the infamous island of Goree, arriving there after a 20 minute boat ride. Begin your visit to this island classified as “World Cultural Patrimony” by UNESCO .
You will visit the Slave House where the curator will narrate the history of over three hundred years of African Slave trading in from Goree.
You will see the Auction Block, some original chains used to restrain the enslaved Africans and iron bowls used during that period. You will also stand in the famous “Door of No Return” from which hundreds of thousands of enslaved African walked to board ships that took them through the Atlantic Ocean’s long Middle Passage and hundreds of years of slavery in the Americas. You will also see and hear how and where men, women and children were separately imprisoned in the slave house, and you will finally visit the Saint Charles Boromeo Church, the ancient Fort and the Ifan Historical Museum as well.
1:00pm: Enjoy lunch at “Chez Thio” restaurant overlooking the Goree Island harbor and enjoy a variety of Senegalese food. In the afternoon, pay a visit to the City Hall of Goree. Meet the Mayor or the vice Mayor.
4:00pm: Return to the harbor to board your return ferry to Dakar. After arriving back in Dakar, return to your hotel.
In the evening transfer to “La Playa” restaurant in downtown Dakar for dinner. Overnight at your hotel

9:00 am: Depart for Thies, one of the main towns of Senegal , which is located 47 miles east of Dakar. Here you will visit one of the main cultural institutions of Senegal “The National Manufactory of Decorative Arts”, where very beautiful tapestries are woven that depict scenes from Senegalese paintings as well as varied Senegalese artistic expressions. These intricate tapestries are one of Senegal’s most famous art forms. Each year a nationwide competition is held to select the most beautifully woven tapestries, which you will see. Senegalese tapestries decorate the Banquet Hall of Buckingham Palace and the Plenary Room of the United Nations in New York. Visit the exhibit hall, meet the artists and have an opportunity to discuss this art form.
12:00: Depart from Thies and drive to La Somone on the seaside where you will have lunch.
In the afternoon attend a traditional Senegalese feast in the nearby Serrer ethnic group village, which will be held in your honor. With great joy and enthusiasm the village will welcome you with traditional songs and dances.
In the afternoon proceed to the nearby beach resort of Saly. Check in at Royam hotel.
Relax at the beach and/or swimming pool in the afternoon and later on enjoy a buffet dinner at the hotel restaurant. Overnight at Royam hotel.

9:00 am: Leave for the discovery of Joal and Fadiouth, typical Serer villages which have kept alive their traditional uses and customs. Visit the shell cemetery, the granaries on piles and the shell-village of Fadiouth. Here you will pay a visit to the “Council of Elders”. Discuss and interact with them. Lunch in Joal.
In the afternoon return to Saly, stopping on the way to visit the orphanage of Mbour where you can leave gifts that you may have brought from home i.e., school supplies, clothes, etc.
Relax at the beach or the swimming Pool for the rest of the day. Dinner and overnight.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel.
11:00 am: Transfer to Mbour where you will have a family hosted lunch. Upon arrival meet the host family and be introduced to the various members whom you will meet and socialize with . Interaction and socialization. For lunch you will enjoy the Senegal national dish “Thieboudienne”.
After lunch a Senegalese mint –tea will be served.
Return to your hotel in the mid-afternoon. Relax until dinner. Overnight at your hotel.
Transfer to the airport in time for your departure flight.
